A WINTER WONDERLAND

For this Christmas-loving couple, Bold’s Director of Design created a magical winter wonderland wedding full of dramatic, showstopping elements and subtle, personal details for a big day that was truly unforgettable.

Set at the picturesque Ritz Carlton Reynolds at Lake Oconee, Kelly and Derren wanted to take advantage of their beautiful surroundings – and Brian delivered, constructing two cleartop tents for the ceremony filled with festive red carpet, glittering lighting and winter white florals. Details like throw pillows, cocktail napkins and bar fronts were personalized with the couple’s monogram, which incorporated a dove illustration that represented the groom’s late mother (dover feathers were tucked in the flowers, as well.) The bride walked down the white-carpeted aisle underneath the night sky and towering pines, a beautiful contrast of nature and luxury.

For the reception, Brian transformed the Ritz Carlton’s ballroom into a holiday hall that exceeded all expectations. Kelly didn’t like the chandeliers in the ballroom, so the design team hung 1700 feet of lit garland to create a drop ceiling to hide them. Tablescapes of tall glass hurricanes, red amaryllis and holly berries were merry and bright. The traditional five-tier wedding cake was the piece de resistance: Brian skirted the table in greenery to evoke a Christmas tree and wrapped an abundance of red roses wrapping up the tiers to the top of the cake. It was an impressive, elegant end to the most beautiful day.
