8 years ago, Carter attended a wedding designed by Bold Designer Steve Bales, and as an interior designer herself, she was blown away: It was the most beautiful wedding she’d seen in years. When it came time for Carter’s daughter, Maggie, to get married, they knew Steve had to bring this beautiful garden-themed wedding to life.

In the front yard of the bride’s family’s house, Bold Design installed a “living rose bush” that defined the altar and appeared as if it was growing over the house. Steve hung wicker lanterns in their large magnolia tree and placed chairs on the lawn for family. The driveway was adorned with a custom canopy made of twinkling lights, and Bold’s cabin wall was filled with foliage-filled ceramic planters to finish off the entrance. We utilized Carter’s patio furniture along with her one-of-a-kind chandelier from France to create inviting seating. Our floral design team’s charming arrangements looked like they could have come from a well-tended home garden, letting the theme shine through.

Bold Catering’s delicious food and beverage kept hungry guests happy, starting with flutes of champagne upon arrival and hors d’oeurves like fried goat cheese drizzled with honey and Vietnamese rice paper rolls. A traditional, satisfying dinner spread featured port wine braised short ribs, our signature shrimp & grits station and balsamic roasted chicken with elevated sides like kale salad and parmesan risotto. Behind the groom’s cake, Bold built our best-loved bacon tree with plenty of sugar smacked bacon hanging from wrought iron branches.

We love putting together weddings at private homes! It allows even more of the family’s personality and priorities to shine through. With your Bold Catering & Design team, we’ll work with you to transform a backyard or estate into a pop-up venue worthy of your biggest moments.
