For Nisha and Hetal’s multi-day wedding celebration, Bold Design collaborated with the couple as well as planner Something Fabulous to create distinct vibes at the Hotel at Avalon that paid proper tribute to Indian traditions through modern style and decor.
For the Friday welcome reception, Design used luxe blue velvet sofas and chairs, chrome accents and lush greenery to create a contemporary atmosphere. As architects, the couple provided invaluable insight into how their special days should look and feel – and this night kicked the weekend off right.
At the Saturday morning ceremony, the couple sat beneath an impressive 12′ x 12′ hanging mandap made from live florals – an inspired spin on the traditional wooden mandap. It was also a very personal touch: Hetal designed the mandap, and our own designer Steve Bales brought it to life – literally!
For the lunch following the ceremony, Steve draped an entire room to make it look like a tent, bringing the outdoors into the hotel ballroom. We also added more personal touches to invoke the couple’s life together: They have their own company, Chotel, and we incorporated the business’s name into the design with our marquee letters. (They got their company name by combining their last names, Choksi and Patel.) For the Saturday night party, we repurposed the mandap with hanging treats for guests to enjoy.
For each distinct wedding event, the room was completely transformed. Guests could not believe they were walking into the same space they were in earlier that day or the night before! We love to delight clients and guests with unexpected personal touches and immersive experiences, and we look forward to the next creative wedding to design.
