When you’re designing a 4,000-guest gala, you need to dream big, so designer Brian Worley pulled inspiration from the oversized glamour of Old Hollywood and turned this tented event into a retro shindig that felt intimate despite its massive scale.

After passing a row of flawless vintage cars, guests entered a cocktail area inspired by the silver screen with design details like dramatic white draping, a white button-tufted bar, silver chandeliers, flower arrangements accented by ostrich feathers, and framed photos of early movie icons.

The event’s main tent called for a huge ceiling treatment, so Worley crafted 8-foot fiberglass structures covered in spandex and sequins that he hung from the ceiling to evoke the teardrop crystals of a chandelier. Toile-print projections around the tent made the large space seem warmer and less imposing – the perfect vibe for enjoying the event’s leather sofa lounges.
